Software, recultivated
recultivation
Reclaiming the software you already use. We take software that drifted away from its users and work the ground back: fewer ads, less tracking, more control.
01 Why we exist
Software should answer to the person holding the device. Not to an ad network, not to a growth chart, not to a server that wants to know when you read a message. Recultivation is where that ground gets worked back: careful patches, plain explanations, and nothing phoning home.
Principles
-
01
Minimal patches
Change as little upstream code as possible, so every difference stays easy to audit and easy to carry forward.
-
02
Zero requests of our own
No analytics, no update pings, no servers of ours in the loop. The only traffic is the traffic the software already needed.
-
03
Licenses respected
Upstream licenses are followed to the letter: source published, changes visible, credit kept.
